What does it do?

myFMbutler eID is a plugin for FileMaker Pro 13 (and also 11 & 12), which enables you to read information from the Belgian eID identitydirectly into a FileMaker database. The plugin allows to process the following data: a. General information (name and date of birth, etc.) b. address c. additional information d. Photo e. card info

What do I need?

FileMaker Pro 12 or higher , running on MacOS X 10.6.x or higher, or Windows XP SP3 or higher, including Windows Vista and Windows 7)

How do I make this work?

Installation

First of all, install the plugin - make sure to quit FileMaker first if it is running:

On Windows, use the included Installer application, which will automatically install all components, the plug-in as well as the PDF printer driver software. The plug-in will be installed in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\FileMaker\Extensions (on Windows XP)

C:\Users\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\FileMaker\ Extensions (On Windows Vista/7)

The myFMbutler PrinterSwitch folder, containing the manual and example files will be installed in the Documents folder.

A shortcut to this folder will also be installed on your Desktop.

If you want to remove PrinterSwitch, run the same Install application, and click ‘Remove’ (be sure to quit FileMaker before doing this). Alternatively, you can use ‘Add & Remove Programs’.

On Mac OS X, run the installer.

The plug-in will be copied to:

~/Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extensions/

The manual and example files will be installed at:

/Applications/myFMbutler PrinterSwitch/

In order to remove the plugin, quit FileMaker and remove the plugin file from the Extensions folder.

Example Files

We have supplied several example files:

The Installer example show you how to include a plugin verification on startup and install the plugin if needed. It also features an example of an entire eID card reading script.

The Dialog activated example demonstrates the behaviour of the plugin where the eID middleware ask for authorisation at each reading.

The Dialog Suppressed example demonstrates the behaviour of the plugin where the eID middleware no longer asks for authorisation at each reading.

The Specific' example provides you with some examples of how to retrieve only some specific data from the eID card.
